How to prevent digital eye strain
Preparing for the Leaving Cert or exams, or using digital devices for most of your day, here are some tips to prevent digital eye strain.
Take regular breaks to rest your eyes. Follow the 20-20-20 rule: every 20 minutes, look 20 feet away for about 20 seconds—or take a 5-minute break every hour.
Try not to check your phone during lunch breaks—scrolling isn’t a break for your eyes.
Keep your textbooks at arm’s length to reduce strain.
If you wear glasses, make sure your prescription is up to date.
If your eyes feel dry or gritty, you can try mild lubricating drops.
If you already have symptoms of eye strain and the above tips didn’t help, get an eye test to make sure your eyes are healthy and you don’t need glasses.

Good luck to everyone sitting their exams! 🍀
